In my experience the Covid-19 period is still hard. At the beginning it was even harder. In part, because I had to learn to cut out of my life the natural habits of human contact and free mobility, while incorporating a measure of caution toward everything. I was terribly uncomfortable with the unknown nature of the future, being afraid of a downward spiral or a worsening quality of life for humankind. Then the lifestyle became much simpler and more basic. And then, just before Rosh Hashana a transformation happened when I realized that I was still happy with many less things, while loving the few remaining things. The big lesson for me was to appreciate everything I have. And starting a New Year with a feeling of gratitude and appreciation, that’s a great way to start!! Of course, with an important dose of hope.
